Come test your fitness and try Skimo racing in this friendly race format put on by Skimo Alberta. Each citizen series event will feature a different course with approximately 100 meter of elevation gain per lap. How many laps can you do in 60 minutes?

Mount Norquay

Race Start: 6:30 PM

You will need a headlamp and a backpack (for the bootpack section). No need for avalanche safety equipment.

– Registration will be open from 5 to 6 PM at the Day Logde for both package pick-up and last-minute registration. Don’t be shy, bring a friend!

– The race will start at 6:30 PM sharp.

– For those who are interested in an “how to Skimo”, there will be a clinic with Travis Schiller-Brown from Personal Peak Coaching from 4 PM to 5 PM

– Race duration will be 60 minutes considering how cold it’ll be. If you go through the “lap” before 60 minutes, you’ll get to do one more.

– There will be food in the day lodge afterwards.

Race start: Next to the Spirit chair, It is a short distance downhill from the Night Skiing area and the day lodge.

– Up Phantom (green run)
– Bootpack next to upper Rob’s Run in the trees
– Descent back down a blue groomer
– Lap elevation: around 175 meter
All abilities welcome, this is a great introduction course!

It’ll be relatively cold, so bring some warm clothes!

Race Start: 6:30 PM

The second Citizen Series will be at Mt. Norquay Banff on January 25th!

It’ll be a different course than the January 11th race, but expect the same amount of vertical gain per lap 

Race starts at 6:30 and Personal Peak will host an Intro to Skimo clinic from 4 PM to 5 PM.

– You will need a headlamp, a helmet and a backpack (for the bootpack section). No need for avalanche safety equipment.

– Registration will be open from 5 to 6 PM at the Day Logde for both package pick-up and last-minute registration. Don’t be shy, bring a friend!

– The race will start at 6:30 PM sharp. We will announce the race run shortly.

– Race duration will be 60 minutes. If you go through the “lap” before 60 minutes, you’ll get to do one more.

– There will be food in the day lodge afterwards and registration includes a $10 food voucher.
