The Sunshine 5000 event kicked of the Canadian Ski Mountaineering Cup series for the 2009 season.

True to its name - Sunshine Village - the resort provided a fantastic weather with sunny skies, some wind but decent temperatures.

Top two spots were taken by unstoppable Americans - Ben Parsons and Brendon French - who are arguably the fastest on the continent.
